Internationally, we cooperate with other actors in the fields of masculinity, violence prevention, gender equality and equal parenthood. Sharing our experience in these areas has taken us as far as Ethiopia, Georgia, South Africa, Ukraine and Vietnam. Read on to find out more about the networks we are part of and the countries we work with.
We are an active partner in key global networks:
MÄN is a partner in MenCare, a global campaign on fatherhood. MenCare’s goal is to promote men’s involvement in parenting as non-violent, equal fathers and caregivers. In over 40 countries across five continents, MenCare raises awareness and provides information, education and training.
In 2015, MenCare published the report “State of the World’s Fathers” – a first-ever global overview of men’s participation in parenthood and care work. In Sweden, the report was launched by MÄN and Save the Children.
MenEngage is a global network of organisations who work with men and boys for gender equality. The network unites more than 700 member organisations in six world regions. MÄN coordinates MenEngage in Europe and is part of its global board. Participating in MenEngage allows us to share our expertise, develop our knowledge and lobby internationally for MÄN’s core issues.
In 2015, we created Nordic MenEngage with our Nordic partner organisations. One of our first activities together was a major conference on masculinity in Oslo in February 2017.
Mentors in Violence Prevention
We have adopted the international Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) method in our work with Swedish students and teachers. To discuss best practice and share experiences, we cooperate closely with other MVP organisations in the US and in Scotland.
