Call for Tender: Regional Research

Understanding How Men Seek Psycho-Social Support: Research for Action and Advocacy.
Issued by: MÄN / REDEFINE Project
Deadline for Submissions: 2 July 2025
Budget: 300 000 SEK

1. Introduction

The REDEFINE project is seeking qualified organizations to support the design, implementation, and analysis of a survey aimed at understanding men’s help-seeking behaviors in relation to and attitudes towards psycho-social support. This tender invites expressions of interest from entities with demonstrated experience in feminist, gender equality and masculinity research and/or mental health research, community engagement, and/or social policy development.

2. Background

Men’s mental health remains under-addressed in public health and development discourse. Social stigma and stereotypical masculinity norms contribute to a silence around men’s mental well-being.   • Identify barriers and enablers to men seeking help for mental health issues;

  • Map formal and informal support systems (e.g., peers, professionals, family) used by men when facing mental health issues;

  • Analyze and present findings that can inform advocacy campaigns, policy recommendations, and service design.
